Raw-ternative to Fried Mushrooms

I don’t think it’s a great idea to call something a name that conjures a comparison to foods that aren’t endorsed on a Raw Food Diet. But, it does get the point across. I think these are a great snack no matter what they’re called!

Is Cookie Dough Considered Living Raw?

This morning I woke up with what I call the cooked food hangover. Now I don’t get this hangover when I eat healthy cooked food. It’s only when I eat the bad cooked food that at the time of eating tastes soooo good. Last night it was chocolate chip cookie dough. [...]

Is Raw Right?

Ok, I’ll be the first to admit I’m not an expert on the Raw Foods Lifestyle. I have the body to prove it. But my friend Mark is just passionate enough about all this to leave me wondering if it might be helpful to both of us if I explore this subject with him…maybe even [...]

My Raw Journey

I remember when I started living the raw food life style in winter of 2004.  My kids wanted to absolutely kill me.  I came home, went to the kitchen and dumped everything out of the house that had any signs of processed stuff in it.  I dumped out the sugar, flour, meat, everything.  What I [...]

RawReflections

As I sit here and reflect over the last 4 years of my Raw Food journey, I have to say I am pretty proud of myself. Even though many people go on raw and turn their lives around in a matter of over night with going 100% raw, I for one have been able [...]

The 180° Turnabout: Transitioning into Raw One Degree at a Time

I need to be realistic as I begin the transition to Raw.  It would be a set up for failure if I tried to convert to Raw too quickly, as I suspect it would be for most people who haven’t eaten a very clean diet for awhile. In fact, it could take months, if not [...]

Then I dehydrated them until they were, well dry! Then I made a [...]

Day One-ish

It’s not uncommon for me to research and then get consumed by anything that I’ve chosen to study. I bought the Excalibur Dehydrator nine shelf unit, got the vita-mix, got the Juicer… I never stop to ask “what if I suck at this?” or “What if I lose interest?” I mean, everybody else doing [...]
